| Odrástol som na Beatles, Yardbirds, Rolling Stones. Pamätám sa na to ako dnes. Prvé spomienky. Mal som 19 rokov, práve som končil prvý rok na univerzite a na zemiakovej brigáde pod Tatrami som našiel u domáceho knihu o Londýne. Motivácia. Bola to hrubá kniha o anglickom kráľovstve, napodiv nespolitizovaná, plná obrázkov kráľovských symbolov a Londýna, pochodujúcej gardy, busov, taxíkov a telefónnych búdiek, všetkého čo symbolizovalo tradície a hodnoty starého dobrého Anglicka. Začal som túžiť… | I grew up listening to Beatles, Yardbirds, Rolling Stones. I remember those days as if it were today. First memories. At the age of 19, I was about to finish the first year of my university studies. When picking potatoes under High Tatras during my seasonal job, I found a book about London in landlord’s bookcase. Motivation. It was sort of a thick book about the British Empire, surprisingly not affected by politics, full of pictures of royal symbols and London, marching guard, buses, cabs, and telephone boxes – everything which symbolized traditions and values of the old good Britain. | Mesto je plné ľudí a mňa stále viac ohromuje tolerancia a ohľaduplnosť ľudí. Každý počká, každý ťa pustí ak sa ťa dotkne hneď sa ospravedlní. Vychovaný agresívnym slovenským prístupom s cieľom predbehnúť sa, byť prvý, cítim sa trochu zaskočený. Tolerancia ľudí v Londýne je nekonečná… | The City is full of people. I am still more impressed by their tolerance and consideration for others. Everyone has time for you, lets you pass or apologizes immediately for unintentional touching. Having grown up under Slovak conditions of competition and aggressiveness I feel little embarrassed. Tolerance in London does not have limits… | |
| Najviac to žije v piatok večer. Vtedy každý mladý vyrazí po pracovnom týždni do ulíc a užíva si to do neskorej noci. Sobotné rána sú kruto tiché. Čím viac sa vzdiališ od turistického centra k okrajovým štvrtiam, tým autentickejšie príbehy zažiješ…. | Friday evening is the best time to enjoy. Having finished the weekly work, youngsters hit the streets and party far into the night. Saturday mornings are very quiet. The more you are moving from the tourist centre towards city border parts the authentic stories are waiting for you….
